Look at all the effort the USA has put in the development of the USA's space capability. We developed Mercury, Gemini, Apollo & then our leaders had sufficient foresight to develop shuttle, MMU, RMS, utilized Eva suits & knowledge from earlier programs. We learned a lot from shuttle and became familiar with areas needing design improvements. We spent a large sum of money and developed new technology across the country , employed many people all for something this country needs.
To have this capability put in the trash, & pay Russia .5 billion per year should be an impeachable offense for congress people & the President. It is essentially fraud of the first order perpetrated on the American taxpayer.
Americans as with several other areas, you need to get upset & make changes in the Congress & the Whitehouse. This can be changed, but it requires your attention.
