NASA was envy of world

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/15/magazine/our-debt-to-society.html

From 1969 to 1972, NASA put 12 humans on the surface of the moon and returned them safely to Earth. An incredible accomplishment that has not been repeated. NASA has many other accomplishments that have made society and the world a better place. NASA was the envy of the entire world.

Unfortunately, it seems to me that the mainstream media and the Obama Administration are "fervently" trying to persuade everyday Americans that we really don't want, or need, a robust and vigorous U.S. Space Program.

Even if we did, they continue to imply we couldn't afford one anyway.

Well, take a look at your 2012 tax receipt at:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/2012-taxreceipt

If you don't have you tax information handy, simply use one of the examples provided by the Whitehouse web site.

For example:

$80,000 income — married with two children

This assumes this family contributes 5 percent of their wage income to a 401(k) or IRA, does not itemize, and claims the Child Tax Credit.

The 2012 NASA "tax" amounts to a whopping $26.81! A portion of this "enourmous debt to society" is used to pay the Russians to take our U.S. Astronauts to and from the International Space Station.

Hmmm... so NASA is an "easily cuttable line item?"

Priorities, priorities, priorities... so very, very sad!!!

In the face of impossible odds, people who love their country can change it.

The United States Space Program was an engine of our economy!

Under the Obama Administration, NASA is waving the white flag as other countries forge ahead with plans for human lunar exploration and settlement. This is a national outrage!

Support bipartisan legislation that sets NASA's focus on the Moon! Specifically, the REAL Space Act of 2013 directs NASA to plan to return to the Moon by 2022 and develop a sustained human presence there as a stepping stone for future exploration.

Support the REAL Space Act of 2013 and America's triumphant return to the Moon!
