EO capabilities
What is UNBELIEVABLE, we in 2011 had this UNIQUE CAPABILITY in the shuttle, doing things that are important in EO & on the ground with thousands employed in scientific employment improving the nation's technological capabilities. The shuttle was the envy of all Nations, including Russia . In myth vs. reality, by al Richardson points out many erroneous conclusions drawn by anti shuttle people. ( keeptheshuttleflyingc.blogspot.com). Now cots ( old capsule technology) will not fly for 4 to 6 more years & can not come close to shuttle capabilities, leaving us with no manned capability for ten years ( 2011 to 2021). EO EVA capabilities are declining month by month!
Unbelievably, the adm will not consider x37 c, boeing proposal which could get us back in manned spaceflight operations in 4 years with a near shuttle equivalent!
As in many areas with this adm, this illustrates totally ignorant/ very low intellectual capacity! Similar to MS. Harp of Dept. OF State, VJ, & potus!
