Subject: FW: ANTARES UPDATE: Saturday is next launch attempt...

Launch of Antares (A-ONE) test flight from Wallops Flight Facility on Virginia's Eastern Shore has been rescheduled for 4 pm Central (5 EDT) on Saturday. NASA TV coverage begins at 3:30 Central (4:30 EDT). By the time coverage starts, the launch window will likely have been reduced to 10-15 minutes.

An attempt Friday was called off after review of the weather forecast made the decision easy. In technical terms the weather is going to be terrible. Saturday's forecast indicates an 80 percent chance of favorable conditions. Sunday also is a launch option should it be required.

The issue of the premature detachment of an upperstage umbilical at the T-12 minute mark has been addressed and resolved.

Don't forget that a Russian EVA aboard the ISS will take place Friday, so tune in for that beginning at 8:30 am Central (9:30 EDT).

Go Antares. Go Orbital !!!
